Top Sexy Songs at a Lingerie Party

We had great fun at a recent party putting together a playlist of our favorite top sexy songs. Eight of us were attending one of those sexy lingerie hostess parties. We were a mixture of coworkers and relatives of coworkers, and with our ages going from 19 to 55 years old, our choices ranged from the Fifties to the present.

The whole thing was triggered when the hostess played “Paradise by the Dashboard Light” by Meatloaf, and one of the younger girls never heard it before. When the baseball part began, her jaw just dropped, and we were rolling on the floor laughing. That particular song ends with the singer praying for the end of time, so it’s not really sexy, but it inspired us to come up with a list with some rockin songs on it.

First, we decided we had to define: What’s sexy? You have the poignant romance songs about experiencing love. Then there are the songs that just make you want to move for some action, Jackson. Next we have the songs that MUST be on The Playlist. And the last group is a tribute to movies with great songs played during significant moments.

A Chance at Romance

You can listen to these in front of your mother, but they make you curl up inside with secret pleasure. For instance, think of At Last, done in 1961 by Etta James, and redone in 2008 by Beyonce Knowles for a movie called Cadillac Records. Another favorite is 1959’s Sea of Love, pulling you into the relentless rhythm of the waves. This was first recorded by Phil Phillips, and The Honeydrippers (Half of Led Zeppelin) re-released it in 1984.

Then there’s Marvin Gaye singing 1973’s Let’s Get It On, with the intensity in his voice unmatched as he sings about nothing more than love and sex. And what about the Captain and Tennille’s Do That to Me One More Time (1979)? You can’t ignore Tennille’s desire when she says that once is never enough, even if the smokiness of this song was a musical fluke for this ahem, married duo. Then there’s Aretha Franklin, belting out 1968’s You Make Me Feel Like a Natural Woman.

Movin and Groovin

1976’s Play That Funky Music by Wild Cherry isn’t about sex, but it sure shakes boot-tays.

2006’s Sexy Back by Justin Timberlake.

1977’s Fire by the Pointer Sisters was actually written by Bruce Springsteen.

1969’s Spill the Wine by Eric Burden and the Animals – Imagine standing naked to the world, at the hall of the mountain king!

1975’s You Sexy Thing – by Hot Chocolate, which has risen to number one status three different times in past decades.

1968’s Touch Me by The Doors.

Mid 1980’s Kiss You All Over by Exile.

1971’s Walk on the Wild Side by Lou Reed

Turn Off Your Mother’s Hearing Aid

1990’s Justify My Love by Madonna
1989’s Push it by Salt-N-Pepa
1973’s Between the Sheets by the Isley Brothers
Mid-1970s Touch Myself by Blondie
2007’s Whatever You Like by T.I
2005’s Love In This Club by Usher

Hot Movie Moments

We go to movies for lots of reasons, and one of them is because we love getting steamed up. The Righteous Brothers sang Unchained Melody for 1990’s “Ghost,” when Patrick Swayze interrupts Demi Moore’s pottery session. And who could breathe during 1985’s “Witness,” when you knew that Harrison Ford’s policeman and Kelly McGillis’s Amish widow could only dance during Sam Cooke’s Wonderful World.

We also picked Solomon Burk’s Cry To Me in 1987’s Dirty Dancing, right after Jennifer Grey’s Baby tells Johnny Patrick Swayze again that she’s afraid if she leaves his room she’ll never feel that way again.

Lots of movie songs have played more to lust than love. There’s a climactic scene in 1983’s “The Big Chill” when The Rascals “In the Midnight Hour” dominates all other sound. And from 2009’s Watchmen, Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah creates quite a stir with its rhythm change-up while Patrick Wilson’s Nite Owl rocks with Malin Akerman’s Jupiter.

What about Zack Miri make a Porno with Live’s unreleased “Hold me Up”? You have to listen to this song and as really captures the moment on screen.

Who Bought the Most Lingerie?

Yes, it was the 55-year-old among us who bought the most stuff, and she says it’s to pay her husband back for her new kitchen. Plus, she had a parting song for us that she dug up on a file-sharing site’s top sexy song from the 1960s called “Telephone Man” by Meri Wilson. Once you listen to this song, you’ll never anticipate a visit from a home service technician the same way, ever again.
